Karo Fernandez, PV Technical Training and Curriculum Development, SEI

Karo Fernández is a mechanical engineer from the University of Costa Rica and has worked in the photovoltaic industry since 2009. She started in installation of PV systems, then evolved to development and direction of solar projects in her country. Now Karo runs her consulting company focused on quality control and optimization of photovoltaic systems in Latin America. I

n recent years she has been responsible for the revision of electrical PV designs, inspection and / or commissioning of more than 18 MW in more than 100 different projects throughout 6 countries. Karo also serves as a technical consultant for Solar Energy International (SEI), developing the teaching material and providing technical training in design, installation, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems.

María Pía Day, Marketing & Communications Manager Latin America, SEI

Pia works as Marketing and Communication Manager for the SEI Spanish Program. With a degree in advertisement and a background in social responsibility and innovation, she helps spreading SEI mission across Latin America.
She is committed to share SEI mission to empower people, bussiness and communities with renewable energy education with the spanish speaker community. Helping them to improve their life standards, providing better access to education and new job opportunities, improving health and security conditions and developing a more sustainable world.

As she joined SEI, she was rapidly amazed by the energy and vast experience of it passionate team and started working closely with the Marketing and Business Development Team to help increase the awareness of the Spanish Program into the Hispanic community. Pia lives in Salta, Argentina with her husband Joaquin and her son Milo. Their home is far from the city as they enjoy being surrounded by nature. On her free time she likes to write, take jazz dance classes and go swimming.
