The Brazilian electrical system is undergoing an electroenergetic transition on the load side. This situation favours photovoltaic micro and mini-generation, with emphasis on the feeding of air-conditioning systems.
The accelerated growth of distributed generation has implied regulatory challenges (tariff issues). Energy management based on the ISO 50001 standard is a necessity for the set of consumers and self-producers. It helps to minimize the demand for solar generation and for external supply.

Guilherme Filippo was a professor at the Department of Energy, UNESP - Guaratinguetá. He was head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, vice director and director of the Guaratinguetá Campus. He specializes in Fluidomechanical Systems and Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes and Equipment. He is the author of several books in these areas, all by Editora Érica. Energy Management (2017) was his last publication. He is currently a collaborating professor of Executive Master in Production Engineering - Unesp / Feg. He is also a contributor to Revista Eletricidade Moderna.
Jorge Muniz Jr. is Associate Professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista – (UNESP), Sao Paulo, Brazil, Associate Editor of Production Journal, and coordinator of Executive Master in Production Engineering. His Doctorate in Operation Management (UNESP) was awarded by Production Engineering Brazilian Association (ABEPRO), and M.S. (Operation Management) from USP. Additionally, he has worked on FORD as Quality Manager. He researches knowledge management in production systems, quality management and lean thinking.
