About the Speaker

Yusuf Macun is a partner and head of the project finance advisory practice at Apricum – The Cleantech Advisory.

He has over 20 years of experience in energy and infrastructure financing and investments, with a focus on the power, infrastructure, oil and gas and renewables sectors. His impressive track record includes the successful closing of cross-border deals in excess of USD 17B in a range of emerging and developed markets, in particular, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Before joining Apricum, Yusuf held leadership roles including global head of project and commercial finance at Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA). Prior to that, he was head of power and renewables for Europe and Africa at HSBC London where he advised governments and companies on a wide range of transactions across EMEA in sectors including wind, solar, coal/oil/gas-fired thermal and nuclear power generation. He also gained valuable transaction expertise and experience in prior roles at the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, Lazard, Flemings and Rolls-Royce Power Ventures.

Yusuf has a master’s degree in international finance and management from HEC Paris, and a master’s degree in engineering and computer science from ENSIMAG in Grenoble.
