IRAN – THE NEW RISING STAR

The Iranian energy supply is currently undergoing a structural transformation in order to cope with the growing energy demand of the future. With the reopening of Iran for economic cooperation, Intersolar is well-placed to make a valuable contribution to the set-up of a renewable power supply, using its large network of solar companies and associations. The solar industry has great potential.

In May, the Ministry of Energy of Iran announced new feed-in tariffs through the Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (SUNA). The new feed-in tariffs are valid until March 21, 2017. Whilst the tariffs are 18 to 43% in comparison with the previous year, the remuneration is still considered attractive by market observers.

As part of the Enabling PV project, the German Solar Association BSW-Solar explored the Iranian solar market at the end of 2015 and published a study on the investment conditions and project development on site. However, on November 15, we will be going a step further. Taking place for the first time ever in 2016, the Intersolar Summit Iran is geared towards international investors and project designers, as well as local project developers and installers. As ever, at the forefront of our work is the motto Connecting Solar Business.
